Happy New Year, The Readers

2012 was a year of Bath Salt Zombies and never, ever, ever, getting back together.  It was a year of Instagram and Facebook and Facebook’s stock diving like a Chinese 12-year-old off the high dive in the London.  It was a year of Obama’s reelection and Michael Phelps’ retirement (*Author’s note: allegedly).  The entire year was coated in a filmy layer of Carly Rae Jepsen, like a pop-music laminate that you just couldn’t quite peel off and “Gagnam Style” spawned so many parodies that the only original thing you could possibly do in regards to the billions-served-Youtube-song was to just not talk about it.

It was a big year for me, personally, seeing my 1st wedding anniversary come and go in September and the birth of my first son in June.  My heart, my course, and my consciousness have all been irrevocably altered by these events and I have found myself in an exuberant, joyful state of being that carries me through all hours of darkness and lights my way for me.  My wife and son are my constellations; my guides.  2012 brought family home to me in an entirely different way than before.  2012 was good to me.

2012 saw big things continue to happen for Burnpoetry.  On the whole I received 7,837 views in 2012.  This averages out to 21 views a day, but, more importantly, to roughly 70 views per post.  Thanks to everyone who stopped in and read/scoffed at/secretly-hatemailed.  I appreciate all the feedback, all the comments, all the sharing you all contributed in 2012.  In the words of Lil Wayne: “I ain’t shit, without ya’ll.”

In the unpaid blogging world,  word of mouth – or in this case, usually word of social networking – is as good as gold.  If you like what you read, share it with some of your friends.  Share it with some of your coworkers or parents or anyone who won’t judge you based on my burning insanity.

Down below each story is an easy and efficient way to share these crazy articles in a variety of different ways.  I would be forever in your debt if you would help spread Burnpoetry’s works.  2013 has the potential to be a huge year for Burnpoetry, but I need your help to keep making it a little more widely known, one click at a time.

I continued to do my best at staying relevant and bettering myself as a writer.  I’ve been making a conscious effort to improve Burnpoetry, both with more visual aides and with better written content.  Keep me in line, though, and make sure to help me out with any good or great ideas that need to be “published” on the world-wide web.

Above all: thanks for reading.  I love writing to an almost absurd degree and it still makes me giddier than a tween boarding the One Direction tour bus to log onto my account and see that anyone has actually read some of my work.

You keep reading, I’ll keep writing.

Happy New Year, Burnpoetry readers.  Happy New Year.
